yesterday i visited an elderly neighbour of my parents' who is in hospital. it reminded me of how truly wonderful nurses are - in fact, i have nothing but admiration for pretty much everyone who works in healthcare. it was also sad to see violet on her own, lonely and scared. there are so many thousands of elderly people with no-one to visit them. quite difficult to know what to do, apart from make sure we look after our own relatives.
