fireworks

i love fireworks night - but i hate the fact that fireworks are for sale to the general public. seems unbelievable that we are putting offensive weapons into the hands of anyone with a few quid to spare. when i was in manchester a kid cycled past me and threw a banger at my feet - which gave me a scare - and i have been a bit paranoid ever since. my year 10s today were discussing who was going to buy fireworks and what they were going to do with them. one of them was implying he was going to be throwing them at his neighbours' houses 'for a laugh'.
