on being evangelised
one of my absolute favourite pupils came up to me for a chat after mass on friday. i don't teach him anymore, but i still have a soft spot for him. he's in year 8 - so i guess he's about 12. anyway, i was asking him how he's getting on and things. and he said to me "well, i better go. it would be nice to see you at mass one morning". i have stopped going to 8am mass at school - preferring to spend those 15 minutes laughing with my colleagues. however, when little charlie k invited me to mass like that i realised that i kind of missed going along.
friendship evangelism at its best.

hullo. Nice touch. Now you have to try it with your colleagues. 'Sorry I haven't had our 15 minutes together of late - I've been going to mass. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone?'
I give people here lifts into town. 'So, do you go to church?' And the conversation begins. Well not always. Many people I give lifts to do not speak English which kind of scuppers things.

funny, though - i hope ck doesn't become a jesuit, because i would like to see him being a darling husband and father. but we'll see.
christina - unfortunately i don't think morning mass would be a very useful thing to take folks along to. it can be a little dull - and very badly attended.
plus, if i wasn't in the staffroom i'm not sure anyone would really notice...
