I'm good. Thanks for asking. I'm working about 30 hours a week at a bank doing teller work, plus the full time student thing at the seminary. Classes have been kind of boring the last two quarters, but this quarter things look a little more difficult and interesting. LA is an interesting place - and I like being in the city. But I'm not sure LA is the place for me. It's a little bizarre and spread out, with a really strange city center - and lots of violence and gang stuff. Plus, sense Hollywood is here, this place is all about entertainment and about image. So, its a mixed bag.
studies are going well - very interesting stuff this term about the sacraments - specifically eucharist and baptism. have just written an essay defending infant baptism, which was interesting. difficult to fit everything in - (paid) work, essays, reading and just normal life. i have done pretty well at keeping some semblance of a social life, which keeps a spring in my step.
i love london too. i can't imagine living in l.a. i flew into and out of l.a. a couple of years back on my way to australia. seemed a very sprawly place indeed. the airport was a micro-cosm of america - lots of obese folks!
suzy - happy spring to you! its finally warming up here properly, and i took a lovely walk today thru the nearby park/commons to a lake in the middle of the city, not unlike hyde park, but much smaller. I laughed when i saw your comment about fat americans. I went to a shopping mall the other day and every other person there was seriously overweight, its a real problem.
hey Suzy, my turn too say hello (its been way too long). i miss springtime in London, though i suppose i only experienced it for a few weeks.
glad to read your studies are going well. it seems like only yesterday you were kicking around the idea of Vicarship and here you are, in full swing. i wish we could come over and visit this summer, that would be the best thing ever. unfortunately, i've gotta find a real job soon (i graduate in may!), so any major trips will have to wait a while.
thanks guys - lovely to hear from you all. it would be great to have a big reunion in london town - if i win the lottery, i'll fly you all out. extremely unlikely i'll win, however, as i never buy a ticket!
i like laughing a lot, i teach teenage boys, i am interested in learning more about god and faith, i like meeting new people and cherishing the people i already know
