the andersons have returned for a brief sojourn in the uk.
so lovely to see them!

today was jemima's dedication service, followed by lunch at the elliotts'

job satisfaction

yesterday was a day to celebrate all the achievements of the boys in year 13. it was their last official day at school, and the sixth form team gave them an excellent send-off. we had a brilliant assembly in which the musicians did their thing, the thespians made us laugh and we were all amazed how far they have come (we looked at a powerpoint with all of their original year 7 photographs!)

just returned from a weekend in germany with the british forces overseas. or more accurately with my friend james who is a teacher in a secondary school on a british army base in germany. we had such a fantastic time. the weather was unbelievably good - perfect for a lazy afternoon in the garden with james, sarah and their two boys matthew and daniel. perfect also for a bike ride across the fields and a walk in the woods.

teesh and i had a great time laughing with sarah and james, getting kisses and cuddles from matthew and james (very discerning, even at their young ages) and being introduced to the rhinelands. we even went into holland for a few hours.
